Contacting the Speakers’ Bureau

This guide provides a comprehensive listing of public presentations given by members of the Hamilton Historical Board Speakers’ Bureau. There are a total of 10 distinct subject areas with topics that reflect the depth and breadth of expertise of the speakers.

HHB speakers provide their services to interested groups free-of-charge. In some cases, they may ask groups to provide some audio-visual equipment. Biographies of each speaker are included as well as contact information.

How to Select a Speaker :

  1. Go through the listings and select the topic, or topics, of most interest to your audience. Consider selecting a back-up speaker in case your first choice is unavailable.
  2. Select the date for which you want a speaker. If possible, have a back-up date in case the speaker is unavailable.
  3. Send an email to the speaker (Contact information may be obtained by clicking on the Speaker’s Name) detailing:
    • The topic(s)
    • The date and start time
    • A description of your audience (who, level of interest, level of knowledge)
    • Time available for the presentation, including questions and answers
    • Your contact information
  4. Wait to be contacted by the speaker to discuss details and arrangements.
  5. And finally, enjoy discovering more about the great history of the City of Hamilton, its communities, and the people who have helped shape it.
